This charming 1920s cottage was in need of serious help. When we arrived, its “foundation” consisted of little more than old logs set on end. When we left, it had a new master suite addition that looked as though it had always been there, a full finished walkout basement, and a beautiful bluestone patio with a firepit—perfect for those cool Cape Cod evenings. To preserve the rustic interior charm, rigid insulation was installed on the exterior, allowing the original interior finishes to remain exposed while improving energy performance.
