It all began with what I affectionately call the poor man’s cornice. While this house needed just about everything, one of the most transformative elements was the build-up of exterior trim along the eave line and rakes—a small detail that brought a surprising richness and proportion to the façade. The project ultimately grew beyond the trim, culminating in a full house lift and the addition of a walkout basement, giving the structure both stature and function it never had before.
